That model does not come in black but I have alternatives.
There are two choices for RV microwave ovens that are black. The Greystone # 324-000105 which cooks at 1350 watts in 0.9 cu. ft. of space, (23-3/8" wide X 15" tall) or the Furrion # FMSN09BL which cooks at 1350 watts in 0.9 cu. ft. of space. (19-1/16" wide X 13-5/8" tall)
However the Greystone # 324-000135 you asked me to compare is an "Over The Range" model that cooks at 1600 watts and has bottom facing lights and exhaust fans... view full answer...
I spoke with Furrion to double-check on this for you.
You are correct in that the element inside the Furrion Over the Range RV Convection Microwave, part # FMCM17SS, acts as a broiler. It's an exposed element that can be used to grill food like a broiler does.
Of course, this has reasonable limitations. As for steak, you can get away with very thin slices or pieces on a kebab, for example, but a full sirloin would be too thick to be able to cook through.
